About Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute (GBHI)
GBHI is a 118-bed acute care psychiatric hospital offering comprehensive mental healthcare programs and services for adults, teens, and seniors in Georgetown.
In addition to inpatient acute care services, we provide outpatient programs that help support patients during discharge or as an alternative to hospitalization.

Position SummaryOur Mental Health Technicians provide high‑quality care to patients who are hospitalized with psychiatric or emotional disorders.
Mental Health Technicians must support the hospital program philosophy of care, support and ensure a therapeutic milieu for all patients, communicate with nursing staff constantly, and participate in the patient plan of care as assigned.

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. CPR and SAMA training required (training provided by the employer).
- Required Licenses: None.
- Experience: Clinical experience preferred in a behavioral healthcare setting; experience in a freestanding psychiatric hospital preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills and be a good listener with a pleasant demeanor that encourages and engages others.
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritize with strong time‑management skills.
- Screening: Must successfully pass background check, drug screen, physical, and provide positive employment references.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand for sustained periods, walk, pull, lift, raise and move objects (up to 50 lbs.), finger grasp; express or exchange ideas orally and potentially loudly, accurately, or quickly; perform repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, or fingers, and perceive sound with or without correction.
