Job Summary And QualificationsThe Administrative Care Tech contributes to high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of clerical tasks. The Administrative Care Tech functions as receptionist for the unit and assists the patient care team while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. As a member of the patient care team, the Administrative Care Tech assists the nursing staff in providing basic patient care.
Whatyou will do in this role
As the Administrative Care Technician, you will perform a variety of clerical and patient-related services. You will function as receptionist for the unit, assist with patient centered secretarial tasks, and maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe patient environment. You will also assist the nursing staff in providing basic patient care.
- You will greet and attend to patients and visitors
- You will perform patient-centered secretarial tasks
- You will receive and direct incoming calls and relay messages
- You will ensure waiting areas and work areas are organized and safe
- You will order and restock office and unit supplies
- You will participate in the implementation of nursing care plans
- You will obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information throughout their care
- You will assist patients with mobility tasks, transfer patients, and assist with daily living care for patients
- You will perform rounding and respond to call lights
- You will prepare and maintain clean and hazard-free patient rooms
- You will assist with post-mortem care
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in an acute care setting – preferred
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Medical terminology course or other vocational training – preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
