Systems Administrator, IT Consultant, IT Support, IT Business Analyst
Reports To: Director, Information Technology
Job SummaryThe Business Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, support, and optimization of the company’s business applications and underlying IT systems, with a focus on ERP platforms such as Epicor Kinetic. This role ensures the reliability, performance, and security of critical systems while aligning technology with business processes. The Business Systems Administrator works closely with stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and support continuous improvement across enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities- Administer, support, and optimize business applications, with a primary focus on Epicor Kinetic ERP
- Configure and maintain system environments, including servers, operating systems, and application platforms that support business systems
- Monitor system and application performance; troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure high availability and reliability
- Manage user access, roles, and security settings across ERP and related systems
- Support ERP-related processes such as updates, patches, customizations, and integrations
- Collaborate with business units to gather requirements, improve workflows, and implement system enhancements
- Ensure system security through proper configuration, monitoring, and adherence to IT policies
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures
- Partner with IT and external vendors on projects, upgrades, and ongoing system improvements
- Provide end-user support and training for ERP and other business applications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in IT support
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server environments, and cloud technologies
- Solid understanding of processes and their dependencies within an ERP application: financial, engineering, purchasing, inventory management, manufacturing operations
- Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems, preferably Salesforce & Epicor Kinetic
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Power BI, Excel, Web Portals, SSRS and Web Apps
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally (such as files or office supplies)
- Regular use of hands and fingers to operate office equipment (keyboard, calculator, phone)
- Work performed in a professional office environment with minimal exposure to noise, temperature changes, or other environmental factors
