Systems Administrator, IT Support
Reporting directly to an assigned IT Manager or Director, responsible for managing, configuring, and maintaining reliable operation of countywide and/or critical technology systems or applications. Level II of III in System Administrators.
* Funding for this position will be effective October 1, 2026
- Configures, administers, and maintains designated system or application to support end users’ needs
- Manages configurations, processes, and systems of designated technology infrastructure
- Assigns rights and roles for software applications
- Tracks system bugs, reporting issues, and resolutions
- Provides customized supporting tools for end users (i.e. reports, forms, workflows, reports, etc.)
- Performs regular testing and auditing of designated systems, software, and procedures
- Provides advanced technical consulting and support services as needed
- Designs and delivers training programs
- Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
- Performs special duties as assigned
Public Safety
- Manages applications used by first responders in Williamson County and participating agencies
- Manages hardware and software systems related to Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, and Emergency Management such as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)
- Manages projects related to public safety technologies
- Participates in a rotating after hours on-call schedule
- Reports directly to – IT Manager or Director

- Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, visual examination of documents, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, standing and occasional lifting/carrying
- Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environment
- Regular travel between work sites as required
- Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday – Friday) may be required
- May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency
- Regular attendance is required

- Vocational/technical diploma or certificate and three (3) years of job-related experience; OR four (4) years of job-related experience
- Working knowledge of specific job-related technology
- Valid driver’s license
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Working knowledge in all areas of technology software, hardware, data, methodologies, frameworks, and infrastructure
- Technology certification in area of responsibility
