The MRO Section Manager – Procurement Operations is responsible for leading the procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials, spare parts, equipment, consumables, and maintenance-related services that support manufacturing and facility operations. This role ensures uninterrupted production by developing procurement strategies, managing supplier performance, optimizing inventory availability, and driving cost-effective purchasing decisions.
The ideal candidate is a proactive procurement leader with strong expertise in supplier relationship management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration. This individual will work closely with Manufacturing, Facilities, Engineering, Warehouse, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure timely procurement while continuously improving procurement processes and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Procurement Operations- Lead day-to-day MRO procurement activities, ensuring timely acquisition of maintenance materials, spare parts, consumables, tools, equipment, and related services.
- Oversee the complete procurement lifecycle, including RFQ preparation, supplier selection, quotation analysis, negotiations, purchase order management, delivery tracking, and invoice resolution.
- Ensure critical materials are available to support uninterrupted manufacturing and facility operations.
- Develop procurement plans that balance inventory availability, lead times, and cost optimization.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, responsiveness, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery performance.
- Conduct supplier evaluations, performance reviews, and corrective action initiatives.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers to strengthen supply continuity and mitigate sourcing risks.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and service agreements that support company objectives.
- Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Analyze spending trends and purchasing data to identify savings opportunities and improve sourcing strategies.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that streamline procurement workflows, reduce lead times, and improve internal customer satisfaction.
- Support standardization initiatives and strategic sourcing projects.
- Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, Warehouse, Finance, and other departments to forecast procurement requirements and prioritize critical purchases.
- Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to maintain appropriate stock levels for critical spare parts and consumable items.
- Resolve procurement-related issues affecting production schedules or maintenance activities.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procurement procedures, and ethical sourcing standards.
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and purchasing records.
- Prepare procurement metrics and management reports, including supplier performance, cost savings, spend analysis, and procurement KPIs.
- Support internal and external audits related to procurement activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of procurement experience, with significant experience in MRO procurement, indirect materials, maintenance spare parts, or industrial manufacturing.
