Position SummaryCompal USA Technology Inc. is seeking an experienced Indirect Materials Coordinator to support the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of indirect materials that enable efficient manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted availability of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies, production consumables, tooling, office supplies, personal protective equipment (PPE), and facility-related materials across our manufacturing facilities.
The Indirect Materials Coordinator serves as a key liaison between Procurement, Warehouse Operations, Manufacturing, Facilities, Finance, and external suppliers to ensure indirect materials are purchased, received, stored, issued, and replenished efficiently while maintaining accurate inventory records and cost control.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and customer-focused, with strong ERP experience and a solid understanding of inventory control, warehouse operations, and indirect procurement within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Create, process, and manage purchase orders for indirect materials, MRO supplies, production consumables, tooling, office supplies, and facility-related materials.
- Monitor open purchase orders and proactively expedite supplier deliveries to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate with suppliers to resolve pricing discrepancies, shipping delays, quality concerns, invoice issues, and delivery exceptions.
- Maintain effective supplier relationships while ensuring timely communication regarding material availability and delivery schedules.
- Partner with Procurement to identify cost savings, improve supplier performance, and optimize purchasing processes.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels for indirect materials using Kanban, Min/Max, Reorder Point (ROP), and Safety Stock methodologies.
- Monitor inventory consumption trends and generate replenishment requisitions based on forecasted demand and lead times.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
- Ensure proper material identification, storage, labeling, stock rotation, and inventory organization.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives that reduce excess inventory while preventing material shortages.
- Receive, inspect, verify, and store incoming indirect materials in accordance with company procedures.
- Validate purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation for accuracy.
- Issue materials to Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, IT, and other internal departments while maintaining accurate transaction records.
- Maintain clean, organized, and efficient warehouse storage locations to maximize material accessibility and inventory control.
- Perform purchasing, receiving, inventory, and material movement transactions within SAP or other ERP systems.
- Ensure inventory records remain accurate and all transactions are processed in a timely manner.
- Support cycle count programs, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation activities.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, inventory history, and material master data.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports detailing indirect material consumption, inventory balances, and departmental expenses by cost center.
- Analyze inventory trends, material usage, and spending patterns to identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency.
- Assist Finance and Supply Chain leadership with inventory reporting, audits, forecasting, and budget planning.
- Collaborate closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Facilities, Engineering, Production Planning, and Finance teams to ensure material availability.
- Communicate inventory status, shortages, and replenishment plans to internal stakeholders.
- Support manufacturing schedules by ensuring critical indirect materials are available when needed.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory management, warehouse organization, and material flow.
