Position: Shipping and Receiving Supervisor - 2nd Shift 3pm-11pm

Shipping & Receiving Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment. The role studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

Functions

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for shipping personnel and conformance to policy and procedures.
  • Responsible for scheduling vacations, overtime and training.
  • Communicates with Customer Service and Production Scheduling as required.
  • Daily OK of warehouse for organization & cleanliness.
  • Organization and Identification of Finished Goods.
  • Organize the warehousing; coordinate the traffic flow within the warehouse, production and shipping.
  • Verify inventories as needed and communicate discrepancies.
  • Act as back up for shipping / receiving personnel and assist as needed with shipping functions that do not require hi-lo driving.
  • Participate in physical inventories.
  • Act as a back-up for shipping clerk.
  • When using anything sharp, must wear cut gloves on both hands.
  • Perform other duties as required for the safe, efficient operation of the plant.
  • Ensure CTPAT procedure is followed.
  • Ensure Dock Lock Procedure is followed.
  • Ensure Key Surrender Board Procedure is being followed.
  • Responsible for off-site warehouse(s).
  • Responsible for answering for transportation to all service locations.
  • Ensure all returnable areas are kept clean and organized.
  • Perform daily safety walk thru.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. In the event that this position becomes vacant, the Materials Manager will resume responsibilities.
  • Environmental Responsibilities - Cooperation with action team directives, safety team member, familiar with evacuation plans, trained in clean-up modules, keep all areas of warehouse and docks clean, organized, and clear of debris and resin.

Education and/or

Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
