The Scrap & Reprovision Lead is responsible for leading the daily operations associated with identifying, processing, documenting, and dispositioning scrap materials while coordinating the reprovisioning of reusable materials back into inventory or production. This role ensures accurate inventory transactions, compliance with quality and environmental requirements, and efficient material recovery to support manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, manufacturing material management, ERP systems, and team leadership. The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Planning, Inventory Control, and Finance to minimize waste, maximize material recovery, and maintain accurate inventory records.

Key Responsibilities Scrap Operations
  • Lead daily scrap processing activities for production materials, components, assemblies, and finished goods.
  • Verify scrap requests for accuracy and ensure proper approvals are obtained before disposition.
  • Ensure scrap materials are identified, segregated, labeled, and stored according to company procedures.
  • Coordinate the timely removal and disposal of scrap materials while maintaining accurate records.
  • Monitor scrap inventory and ensure compliance with company, customer, and environmental requirements.
Reprovision Operations
  • Coordinate the evaluation and recovery of reusable materials for return to inventory or production.
  • Ensure reprovisioned materials meet quality standards before being released for use.
  • Work with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing to determine material disposition.
  • Coordinate material rework, refurbishment, repackaging, or reclassification activities when applicable.
  • Support inventory optimization by maximizing material recovery opportunities.
Inventory Control
  • Perform and oversee ERP transactions related to scrap, inventory adjustments, and reprovisioned materials.
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits for scrap and quarantine inventory.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, lot traceability, serial number tracking, and material history.
  • Prepare reports on scrap quantities, inventory adjustments, and material recovery metrics.
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to Scrap & Reprovision Associates.
  • Assign workloads based on production priorities and material disposition requirements.
  • Train employees on material handling procedures, ERP transactions, inventory control, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor team productivity, accuracy, and compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Assist supervisors with staffing, scheduling, and performance feedback.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, Planning, Warehouse, Finance, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to resolve material disposition issues.
  • Support root cause investigations related to excessive scrap and inventory variances.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities when required.
  • Communicate material status and disposition decisions to key stakeholders.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental procedures.
  • Promote proper handling of hazardous, electronic, and ESD-sensitive materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, improve inventory accuracy, and enhance material recovery processes.
