Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse)
Plasma Center operations support requires a nurse to manage donor interactions, medical assessments, and operational compliance within the center.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results.
- Notify donors of unsuitable test results.
- Follow SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance on donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate further evaluation with occupational health/EHS.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- Provide center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS) in collaboration with Bio Life Medical Affairs.
- Operate within the regulatory framework of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified in the state of assignment as an Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Compliance with state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Location:
USA – TX – Georgetown.
