Rock Springs Behavioral Health Hospital is a 72‑bed facility that is part of the Lifepoint Health network, dedicated to making communities healthier.
As an LPN/LVN, you will provide psychiatric and general nursing care to patients hospitalized for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, and psychiatric disorders. You will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and deliver high‑quality, compassionate care.
Responsibilities- Administer nursing care and assist in basic psychiatric assessment.
- Coordinate and deliver quality general and psychiatric nursing care.
- Ensure patient safety and well‑being in a multi‑disciplinary setting.
- Follow directions of the RN, complete tasks timely, and act as a member of the nursing team.
- Conduct individual patient observation/checks and administer medications safely.
- Maintain accurate documentation reflecting acuity and progress toward goals.
- Communicate patient responses to interventions and report daily to the interdisciplinary team.
- Orient patients and families to the program, enforce patient rights, and protect confidentiality.
- Monitor detox protocols and report changes in condition to the physician.
- Adhere to hospital policies for medication administration and deliver nursing care following standard procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program or hold relevant state licensure (LPN/LVN).
- Prior experience in a psychiatric health care facility, especially with chemical dependency and dual diagnosis patients, is preferred.
- Experience in patient assessments, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations.
- Current, unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
- CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of hire.
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
