Job Description

We are a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. and we are looking for a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions that occur at the facility as outlined in the SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing the Center Physician’s standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when unsafe findings must be communicated to donors or for medical or technical guidance.
• Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER; refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.

• High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT‑Paramedic.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

US Dollar: $24.00 – $33.00 per hour. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, unique skills, level of education, certifications, and the location of the applicant.
