Vet Check Pet Urgent Care Center is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians to join our growing team. If you enjoy the fast pace of emergency medicine but want to avoid overnight shifts, this is the ideal opportunity.

• Prior veterinary nursing/technician experience is required.
• A team-oriented professional with strong communication and client education skills.
• Quickly evaluate incoming patients, gather histories, and prioritize based on urgency.
• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, and emergency procedures.
• Administer medications, fluids, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Perform wound care, bandaging, catheter placement, and monitoring of anesthesia.
• Collect and prepare lab samples (blood, urine, feces, cytology, etc.).
• Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment such as radiology, ultrasound, and in-house lab machines.
• Prepare patients and surgical suites for procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia and post-operative recovery.
• Provide intensive care support for critical patients, including continuous monitoring of vitals.
• Clearly explain treatment plans, discharge instructions, and medication administration to pet owners.
• Support clients with compassionate communication during stressful and emotional situations.
• Accurately document patient records, treatments, and progress notes.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, OSHA, DEA, and state veterinary regulations.
• Work closely with veterinarians, client service representatives, and fellow nurses to maintain smooth patient flow.
• Participate in training, mentoring, and cross-training of team members as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites.
• Assist with inventory management and proper handling of medications and supplies.

This position requires flexibility to work a mix of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure the clinic is appropriately staffed and our patients receive the care they need. We value work-life balance and post schedules several weeks in advance to allow for proper planning.

• Vet Check leadership will advocate for our staff by supporting and assisting during difficult situations. We have a "No Tolerance Policy" meaning Vet Check will terminate the relationship with a client for any inexcusable behavior towards staff members. Our goal is to keep you safe both physically and mentally, supported, and valued. We will not tolerate any abuse from clients.

We maintain a support staff ratio of 3-4 techs per doctor to limit burn out, compassion fatigue, and the overall stress of veterinary medicine.
