Job Title:
Mitigation Technician

Job Summary

The Mitigation Technician is responsible for responding to water, fire, smoke, and mold damage incidents at residential and commercial properties. This role involves mitigating damage, performing clean‑up, and assisting in restoring properties to pre‑loss condition. The technician will follow industry best practices, safety standards, and company protocols while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency mitigation calls for water, fire, smoke, and mold damage.
  • Perform water extraction, drying, and dehumidification using appropriate equipment.
  • Inspect and assess affected areas to determine the scope of work.
  • Remove damaged materials safely and responsibly.
  • Set up and monitor equipment such as air movers, dehumidifiers, and moisture meters.
  • Document work performed accurately, including photographs, notes, and reports.
  • Follow OSHA and always company safety protocols.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working conditions.
  • Communicate professionally and clearly with customers, project managers, and team members.
  • Assist in the overall restoration process, including packing, cleaning, and rebuilding tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in restoration, construction, or related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of water, fire, and mold mitigation techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to operate mitigation equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical ability to lift to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Working Conditions
  • Work is primarily performed on‑site at client locations, which may include residential and commercial properties.
  • Exposure to water, mold, dust, smoke, and debris is expected.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, based on emergency calls.
