Head Rigger / Rigging Foreman

Texas | $45.00-$50.00 per hour | Urgent Hire

Are you an experienced Head Rigger who can safely lead complex equipment moves from planning through execution?

Our client is urgently seeking a hands-on Head Rigger to lead a rigging crew on a specialized equipment-moving project in Texas. This position requires someone who can plan lifts, direct crews, assess hazards, and ensure high-value equipment is moved safely and precisely.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced rigging professional who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and remains calm while coordinating challenging lifts in an active project environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead and direct riggers and rigger helpers during equipment moves

  • Plan and coordinate lifting, moving, positioning, and setting activities

  • Determine load weights, centres of gravity, sling angles, and rigging configurations

  • Select and inspect slings, shackles, chains, hoists, spreader bars, come-alongs, and related equipment

  • Develop safe lift plans and confirm that load capacities and site conditions have been properly assessed

  • Coordinate with crane operators, forklift operators, equipment operators, supervisors, and site personnel

  • Direct lifts using established hand signals and radio communication

  • Conduct pre-lift meetings, toolbox talks, and job hazard assessments

  • Assign daily responsibilities and ensure the crew understands the lift plan

  • Monitor exclusion zones, travel paths, overhead hazards, and changing site conditions

  • Ensure rigging equipment is inspected, documented, and removed from service when required

  • Maintain strict safety and quality standards while moving sensitive, high-value equipment

  • Support the crew directly when hands-on rigging assistance is required

  • Stop work immediately if unsafe conditions are identified

What You Bring
  • At least 5 years of direct industrial rigging or machinery-moving experience

  • Previous experience leading a rigging crew as a Head Rigger, Lead Rigger, Rigging Foreman, or Rigging Supervisor

  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing complex or critical lifts

  • Strong understanding of load calculations, sling angles, load control, and rigging capacities

  • Experience moving and positioning heavy industrial or high-value equipment

  • Ability to inspect and properly select rigging hardware and lifting equipment

  • Strong knowledge of crane signals, lift communication, and job-site safety procedures

  • Ability to read lift plans, equipment drawings, and technical documentation

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work overtime, extended shifts, or weekends based on project requirements

  • Ability to pass required background checks, drug screening, and site-access requirements

Preferred Qualifications
  • Qualified Rigger and Signal Person credentials

  • NCCCO, NCCER, OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or equivalent safety training

  • Forklift, telehandler, aerial lift, or related equipment certifications

  • Experience moving semiconductor, data-centre, cleanroom, manufacturing, or other sensitive equipment

  • Experience working on critical lifts in controlled or high-tech environments
