The Technician, Facility Services, HVAC, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems and related building equipment to ensure optimal facility operations. This role involves interpreting technical documentation, performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and control issues, and adhering to safety and regulatory standards. The technician collaborates with management and facility partners to support operational efficiency, manages work assignments using digital tools, and participates in on-call rotations.

Role summary:
The Technician, Facility Services, HVAC, is responsible for:
- Installing, configuring, and calibrating HVAC systems, building equipment, ductwork, and control components following technical documentation and codes.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and control issues affecting HVAC and facility systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Performing preventive maintenance, system inspections, and necessary repairs to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
- Operating tools, equipment, and vehicles safely while adhering to OSHA standards and company safety protocols.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, inspections, parts usage, and completing work orders and expense reports.
- Communicating effectively with facility operators and partners regarding service needs and task status.
- Participating in on-call rotations and managing work assignments using digital tools and scheduling systems.
The Technician, Facility Services, HVAC, should have:
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems and related equipment in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and layout plans to ensure accurate system installation and troubleshooting.
- Skilled in configuring and calibrating building automation systems, direct digital controls, and low-ambient HVAC applications.
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic capabilities to resolve equipment and control system issues effectively.
- Commitment to following OSHA standards, safety protocols, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Proficient in documenting maintenance activities, inspections, parts usage accurately.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with facility operators and team members.
- Capability to manage work assignments using digital tools and platforms.
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
Vocational or technical HVAC certification and 2 years' experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC and building controls. Option 1: 4 years' experience in mechanical maintenance, electrical, plumbing, material handling- equipment, or related trades. Option 2: 2 years' store experience. Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass motor vehicle report. Valid EPA Section 608 Certification for the handling and servicing of refrigerants.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years. Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years. No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years. No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical HVAC program. Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
