Position: Shop Service Technician 3-Heavy Equipment

Holt Group is hiring a Shop Service Technician 3 - Heavy Equipment to perform advanced diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on a wide range of heavy machinery. In this role, you'll inspect equipment, troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues, and complete high-quality repairs in a safe, efficient manner. You'll follow technical manuals and schematics, document all work performed, and collaborate with parts and service teams.

This position offers hands-on, on-site shop work, exposure to diverse equipment, and the opportunity to mentor junior technicians while supporting customer uptime and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Use diagnostic tools, service manuals, and schematics to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Document work performed, parts used, and repair recommendations in service records.
  • Collaborate with service advisors and parts staff to plan repairs and secure required components.
  • Follow all shop safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, and properly use PPE and tools.
  • Test equipment after repair to verify performance and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior technicians as needed.
