- A team supervisor at STARRY leads and supports a group of both clinical-license–seeking and non-clinical staff within an assigned location. They provide direct supervision, ensure staff performance and development, and help maintain smooth day-to-day operations across the main office and any satellite sites. They may provide limited direct services based on program need and staffing structure, and they provide guidance and support to interns as part of the learning environment.
you’ll do
- Provide strengths-based leadership and supervision to staff, fostering professional growth, accountability, and positive engagement with clients, colleagues, and the community while effectively managing personnel matters in alignment with organizational policies and best practices.
- Represent the organization through active participation in community coalitions, collaborative initiatives, and outreach efforts, including occasional evening and weekend events.
- Foster a positive and productive team culture by identifying trends, addressing challenges proactively, and reinforcing a balance of structure, support, and clear expectations.
- Ensure staff performance aligns with contract and program standards, including service delivery benchmarks, documentation quality, billing accuracy, and required outputs.
- Review and maintain documentation to meet grant and contract requirements, including quarterly, annual reporting, and end of month billing.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and crisis support to staff, including direct in-person intervention when necessary.
- Conduct regular one-on-one supervision meetings to support staff development and performance improvement.
- Supervise interns (if applicable) and volunteers and collaborate with licensed staff to ensure appropriate supervision practices.
- Oversee administrative responsibilities, including approval of leave requests, timesheets, and state reporting compliance.
- Lead effective team meetings by setting agendas, managing time, and documenting action steps.
- Achieve and maintain compliance with STARRY and contract standards and implementation requirements.
- Master’s degree in counseling or social work or related field, preferred. Required Bachelor degree in counseling, social work or related field with 3-5 years relevant work experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in the social services field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including electronic documentation and professional correspondence.
- Demonstrated interpersonal effectiveness with a collaborative, family-centered approach grounded in Trauma-Informed Care.
- Sound judgment, problem-solving ability, and ethical decision-making.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced team environment.
- Proficient in computer systems, electronic records, social media communication, and general office technology.
- Flexible and adaptable schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Self-motivated with reliable transportation and ability to meet all background and contract requirements.
