Position Overview

Southwestern University has an immediate opening for a Part-Time Assistant Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach. This position will report to the Head Tennis Coach. The Assistant Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach will provide outstanding leadership in support of our students. This is a Part-time, nine (9) month, non-exempt position.

  • Provide skill instruction and conditioning work consistent with a high-performing NCAA Division III varsity athletic program.
  • Recruit and retain highly talented athletes who also have the academic acumen to thrive at SU.
  • Participation in fund raising activities to support program objectives.
  • Compliance with all university, conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, and bylaws.
  • Be an outstanding mentor to our students by modeling professionalism and high moral standards.
  • Support classroom excellence by utilizing all available university resources in support of students.
Additional Duties
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Proven experience in coaching and ability to demonstrate proper techniques unique to the sport
  • CPR and First Aid or a willingness to become certified within three months of hire
  • Have knowledge, understanding, and acceptance of cultural differences and the diversity within the campus and community.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Collegiate or professional playing experience in the sport
  • Experience in recruiting college-level varsity athletes
Starting annual salary

$15.00 hr. The final offer for the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience and may exceed the starting hourly rate.

This position is not eligible for benefits.
