PART‑TIME BUS DRIVER

Transport students and staff to events safely and promptly while operating a large passenger motor vehicle. The position requires strict adherence to safety regulations, on‑time schedules, and effective communication with students and staff.

• Competencies:
  
  Valid Class B commercial driver license with P and S endorsements;
  Texas school bus driver certification

Operate a gasoline, diesel or electrically powered multi‑passenger vehicle to transport students between Nolan Creek School (Belton) and other campus activities, including field trips.

• Pickup and drop off students according to a strict schedule.
• Enforce order and discipline, instruct students on safe riding rules, and report incidents to staff.
• Supervise students while they board, leave the bus, and cross streets.
• Communicate with staff daily regarding student behavior and bus-related matters.
• Prepare and submit reports on passengers, mileage, fuel consumption, accidents, and other relevant data.
• Be available on‑call for emergencies.
• Maintain compliance with traffic safety regulations and laws.
• Inspect the bus for mechanical defects before and after each operation.
• Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation for passenger comfort.
• Report any malfunctions or needed repairs.
• Monitor tire condition, brakes, wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment.
• Keep the bus interior and exterior clean.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of required training to maintain certifications.
• Minimum of six (6) years of general driving experience preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

• Maintain general physical and emotional health necessary for effective performance.
• Pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and physical health requirements.
• Potential exposure to blood‑borne pathogens or other infectious materials.
