Certified A&P Mechanic – Piston Fleet, Flight Training Operation

Georgetown, TX
Employment Type:
Full-Time, 5 days a week
A well-established flight training organization operating a modern fleet of single-engine piston aircraft. Daily operations are high-volume, aircraft availability is critical, and the maintenance team plays a direct role in keeping training safe and on schedule.
Compensation & Benefits- Base Salary: $35–$40/hour – Based on experience and qualifications
- Starting Bonus: $1,000 sign-on bonus

Available depending on the candidate - Shift: 10-hour shifts; day and night shifts available

Handle both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a piston-powered training fleet where aircraft readiness is mission-critical. Ideal for hands‑on mechanics who own their work, follow regulatory standards without prompting, and take pride in keeping aircraft safe and airworthy.
Key Responsibilities- Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on piston-powered general aviation aircraft
- Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and return aircraft to service in compliance with FAA regulations, approved technical data, and company maintenance procedures
- Reference and apply maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives
- Complete thorough aircraft logbook entries and maintenance records
- Keep the work environment clean, orderly, and consistently safety-focused
- Collaborate with fellow mechanics and operational teams to support fleet readiness
- Reprioritize tasks in response to aircraft availability and changing flight training schedules
- Cover day or night shift as assigned to meet operational requirements
- Active FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate (required)
- At least 3 recent years of experience as a certificated A&P on piston-powered GA aircraft (Piper, Diamond, Cirrus, or comparable)
- Flight school or training fleet background strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 91
- Capable of working independently and making sound, confident airworthiness calls
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; comfortable using maintenance tracking software
- Willing to work day or night shifts based on operational needs
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and sustain prolonged standing, bending, and kneeling as needed
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors around active aircraft, fuels, solvents, and shop equipment
