The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing warehouse personnel and organizing activities to ensure efficient processing, shipping/receiving, storage, and issuance of materials throughout the manufacturing organization. This role involves planning, scheduling, monitoring, and ensuring quality assurance of all procured items. Work requires independent professional judgment and is performed under the general direction of the Director of Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities- Manage warehouse personnel and organize daily activities to ensure efficient processing, shipping/receiving, storage, and issuance of materials.
- Schedule warehouse staff to maintain proper coverage for receiving, shipping, and production support.
- Direct day-to-day warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance, inventory control, and material allocation.
- Maintain inventory integrity through cycle count programs and product consolidation.
- Alert procurement and quality control teams to out-of-stock risks and coordinate to prevent shortages.
- Minimize product shrinkage/spoilage by ensuring proper FIFO practices.
- Establish operational procedures for verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, handling merchandise, and maintaining accurate warehouse inventory.
- Oversee warehouse security and supply stocking.
- Implement cost reduction initiatives in all warehouse activities.
- Coordinate with production line supervisors to ensure timely delivery of components for work orders.
- Plan and execute short- and long-term warehouse improvement projects.
- Maintain computer systems and accurate records for inventory, stock locations, work order pulls, adjustments, and cycle counts.
- Ensure warehouse equipment is properly maintained through preventive maintenance programs and repairs coordination.
- Oversee warehouse safety programs to maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with OSHA, local, and state regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations management, business administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial warehouse, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience in make-to-order settings and production setup procedures.
