The Tax Accountant is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Peachtree City, GA. This role is responsible for preparing individual and business tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and assisting with tax planning strategies. Day‑to‑day work includes reviewing financial records, reconciling accounts, supporting the preparation and analysis of financial statements, and identifying opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
The Tax Accountant will communicate directly with clients to gather information, explain tax positions, and respond to inquiries, while collaborating with the team on complex tax matters and periodic audits. The role also involves staying current with tax law changes and contributing to process improvements within the firm.
- Strong tax expertise, including Tax Preparation, Tax Compliance, and broad knowledge of Tax regulations and concepts.
- Proficiency in Accounting principles and the preparation and review of Financial Statements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA license or progress toward licensure is highly preferred.
- Experience using tax and accounting software, along with solid Excel and general computer skills.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines.
- Clear, professional communication skills for client‑facing work and internal collaboration.
- Prior public accounting or tax firm experience is beneficial, especially with small business and individual clients.
