Drive financial performance and operational excellence by providing strategic cost leadership, delivering actionable business insights, strengthening financial controls, and partnering with operations to improve profitability and support sustainable growth. This role will lead into a successor to plant controller.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead comprehensive cost analysis across materials, manufacturing, cost of sales, product development, overhead, and operating expenses, delivering weekly and monthly reporting on gross margin, cost performance, and budget/forecast variances.
- Oversee core accounting processes, including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Partner with operations leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve efficiencies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing sites.
- Prepare and consolidate monthly financial results, including P&L analysis against Plan, Latest Business Estimate (LBE), and Prior Year, with detailed volume, manufacturing cost, and productivity bridges.
- Develop and maintain product cost standards, annual operating plans, and year-over-year cost change analyses.
- Support forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range strategic planning processes.
- Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights on business trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Manage inventory accounting processes, programs, inventory reconciliations, and variance investigations.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, asset tracking, and compliance reporting.
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies while maintaining a strong control environment.
- External Auditors and Advisors, as required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- MBA/CPA or other advanced business degree preferred.
- Minimum of seven years of progressive finance and accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Experience working with ERP and accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
