Accounts Clerk​/Cashier

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The purpose of this position is to maintain accurate financial records and efficient management of inventory across College sections. The person will play a major role in cash/inventory handling and control.

• Processes cash receipts, sales and ensures the proper accounting codes are used
• Posts transactions into the Accounting System.
• Responsible for maintaining petty cash and ensuring that disbursements are properly approved by authorized personnel and ensuring that all supporting documents (invoices, receipts, etc) are attached to the petty cash vouchers.
• Reconciliation of daily cash and receipts from College outlets.
• Checking the accuracy of stock records maintained by stores personnel including the movement of stock.
• Participate in monthly and year-end stock-counts.

• A minimum of a Diploma in Accounting/Business Administration/Inventory Management.
• Advanced PC skills are required including Excel and Word;
  Access and PowerPoint are preferred.
• Good analytical skills are required.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks as well as flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Should be willing to work outside working hours including weekends.
• Demonstrated accounting and office management experience.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
