Assistant Controller

A client of 6 Degrees Group is hiring for an Assistant Controller in Atlanta, GA.This role supports the Controller across accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls for a company with development, property management, and corporate entities under one roof. The position blends hands-on accounting work with leadership, serving as a go-to resource for complex accounting matters and a key backup for critical financial functions.

Real estate and property accounting experience is important given the mix of development projects and managed properties in scope. This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys variety juggling corporate compliance, property-level oversight, and team development all at once.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting operations across development, property management, and corporate entities
• Support preparation and review of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and month-end/quarter-end/year-end close
• Provide financial oversight for development projects and managed properties, including job costs and leasing activity
• Guide and support accounting team members while driving process improvement and system initiatives

Qualifications:

• 57 years of progressive accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Experience with property management and/or real estate accounting required
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems, with MRI or Yardi experience preferred
