Looking to play a critical role behind the scenes in patient care? As a Medical Records Assistant, you will organize, manage, and maintain clinical documentation while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely processing of provider requests. This role supports clinical and administrative teams through data entry, reporting, and coordination in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and confident handling sensitive information while meeting deadlines and compliance standards.
Location:
Atlanta, GA 30346 - Fully on-site
Shift: M-F, 8am-5pm
Pay: $18-20/hour (DOE)
What You'll Be Doing
Receive, organize, and index medical records and clinical documentation (fax, email, portal, phone)
Enter and maintain accurate data in electronic systems
Support clinical staff with reports, logs, worksheets, and utilization review documentation
Schedule meetings and assist with departmental coordination
Maintain electronic and physical filing systems for accurate record retrieval
Process provider inquiries, callbacks, and information requests within required timelines
Route and document calls, emails, and voicemails, escalating as needed
Communicate professionally with providers and internal/external teams
Ensure HIPAA compliance and protect confidential information
Assist with reports, mailings, presentations, and special projects
Proofread documents for accuracy and formatting
Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
What We're Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent required
2–5 years of administrative, medical office, clinical records, or customer service experience
Experience handling confidential information required
Medical terminology and Medicaid knowledge preferred
Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic record systems
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Associate degree or healthcare-related training preferred
