The Southeast Region, Fort Frederica National Monument is recruiting for winter Administrative Support Assistant (OA) (Seasonal) GS-0303-5 positions intended to assist permanent staff with administrative duties.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your 2 page resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time).
If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. SELECTIVE FACTOR:This position requires the skill of a qualified typist with the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONTo qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess one of the following:
A. Specialized
Experience:
At least one (1) year of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of specialized experience may include: organizing functions of an office; making travel arrangements and preparing travel vouchers, preparing and reviewing correspondence;
assisting with budget activities; processing time and attendance records; providing administrative support services; and utilizing computer skills to navigate through computer software. -OR-
B.
Education:
Successful completion of 4 years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. Education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.

C. Combination: Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. For example, I have 6 months of specialized experience (50% of the experience requirement), combined with three (3) years of college study (90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours).
NOTE:
Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement). One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.
Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
CTAP/ICTAPStatement:
