Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

What You'll Need:

  • Passion about safety that translates to active safety leadership
  • 4-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 10 years of engineering experience
  • Prior experience with direct reports
  • 5 years' experience in project management and capital management projects
  • Knowledge of engineering computer software programs
  • Experience with process improvement and inventory control
  • Advanced time management and analytical skills
  • Excellent client-facing communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Self-motivated, goal oriented, and able to work with little supervision
  • Strong ability to analyze opportunities, think strategically, coordinate and plan large projects to improve reliability and uptime while making good business decisions for Nucor
  • PMP Certification is a plus
