Job Description

At AAA Car Care, we are your preferred automotive experts, offering a full range of repair and maintenance services to AAA members and non-members. Our 47 stores across the USA provide a clean and professionally staffed environment with ASE‑certified technicians ensuring meticulous care for every vehicle.

We are looking for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy working on automobiles, delivering excellent customer service, and who value professional growth.

A Day in the Life of an ACG Car Care Technician

Technicians complete routine scheduled maintenance and basic automotive repair, adjustments, and maintenance procedures—including oil changes, tire replacement and repairs, and general vehicle maintenance—under the direction of a manager or Service Advisor.

Responsibilities General Service Tech
  • Drive vehicles into service bays, prepare them for entry, and complete a digital vehicle inspection.
  • Performs general automotive maintenance and repairs.
  • Test drive vehicles and prepare them for delivery to customers after necessary repairs and maintenance are completed.
  • Keep the shop clean and organized to ensure a positive member/customer experience.
  • Learn from Technician A, B, and C colleagues to further advance your career.
Technician C
  • All General Service Tech responsibilities.
  • Perform automotive repairs, adjustments, and maintenance procedures as outlined on repair orders.
  • Complete fluid exchanges, alignments, brake services, basic repair, and maintenance services.
Technician B
  • All Technician C responsibilities.
  • Work with, mentor, and train less experienced technicians.
  • Perform advanced repair and maintenance services.
Technician A
  • All Technician B responsibilities.
  • Work with, mentor, and train less experienced technicians.
  • Complete electrical repairs, diagnostic repairs, drivability diagnostics, and related tasks.
Compensation and Benefits Pay Rates
  • General Service Tech – $15–$17 hourly
  • C Technician – $17–$25 hourly (based on production)
  • B Technician – $40,000–$70,000+ (hourly base with weekly production bonus opportunity)
  • A Technician – $65,000–$110,000+ (hourly base with weekly production bonus opportunity)

Required Qualifications (All Service Techs)
  • High School diploma, GED, or technical school certification.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of automotive and/or truck systems, tools, and technical resources.
  • Ability to independently perform a variety of basic repairs and maintenance on automobile and truck vehicles.
  • Understanding and consistent demonstration of proper use of equipment and tools.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Consistently provide exceptional customer service and improve customer service scores.
Preferred General Service Tech Qualifications
  • G1‑Auto Maintenance & Light Repair preferred.
  • State inspection certificate where applicable.
  • AC 609 Certification.
Preferred Technician C Qualifications
  • All General Service Tech qualifications.
  • Minimum 6 months relevant experience in automotive repair or completion of formal automotive training program.
  • ASE Certifications (or equivalent).
  • A4‑Suspension & Steering, A5‑Brakes.
  • AC 609 Certification.
Preferred Technician B Qualifications
  • All Technician C qualifications.
  • 3 years or more of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center.
  • Two additional ASE certifications (or equivalent).
  • AC 609 Certification.
Preferred Technician A Qualifications
  • All Technician B qualifications.
  • 5 years or more of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center.
  • ASE Certifications (A1–A8) with Master Technician designation or equivalent…
