STATE PROFILE SUMMARYUnder direct supervision, provides entry level technical support in one or more of the following areas: OMAT, maintenance, construction, intermodal, planning, utilities, surveying, environmental, or traffic.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIESUnder general supervision, this position is responsible for:
- Perform routine testing of various materials used in highway construction.
- Perform calculations and record materials test results.
- Operate and maintain various testing equipment and tools used in construction materials testing.
The selected candidate must meet the advertised minimum qualifications to include State Entry Qualifications as well as Agency Specific Qualifications.
STATE ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS- High school diploma or GED
- A valid Georgia Driver’s License is required.
- Ability to learn to perform routine support duties for assigned program area (construction, surveying, traffic operations, lab testing, or data collection).
- Ability to learn to operate equipment and/or instruments as required.
- Ability to learn laboratory and/or field sampling and testing of construction materials.
- Ability to perform computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division correctly.
