Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead the field execution of complex water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing self‑perform and subcontracted work on municipal water, wastewater, and industrial treatment facilities, with the ability to safely deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role requires a hands‑on leader who can coordinate field operations, mentor project teams, and work closely with project management, owners, engineers, and subcontractors throughout all phases of construction.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all on‑site construction activities for water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Coordinate and supervise field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Develop and maintain short‑term look‑ahead schedules to support overall project milestones.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead daily planning meetings and coordinate field operations to maximize productivity.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure work is executed correctly.
- Identify and proactively resolve field issues, conflicts, and constructability challenges.
- Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with project standards and specifications.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Owners, and Inspectors.
- Track manpower, equipment, production rates, and project progress.
- Assist with commissioning, startup, and turnover activities.
- 8+ years of construction experience with a strong focus on water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Previous experience serving as Superintendent, General Superintendent, or Lead Superintendent on treatment plant projects.
- Thorough understanding of concrete structures, process piping, mechanical systems, equipment installation, and site civil work.
- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and coordinate complex construction activities.
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, safety programs, and quality control procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience delivering projects utilizing Design‑Build or CMAR delivery methods.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with commissioning and startup of treatment facilities.
- Knowledge of municipal water and wastewater regulations and treatment processes.
