Senior Safety Specialist, Industrial​/Manufacturing

• Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and complex construction projects
• Conduct construction-site walkthrough inspections and safety audits
• Identify, document, and recommend abatement of hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions
• Use internal safety management systems to document findings, track abatement, and perform trend analysis
• Conduct project-specific new-hire orientations and oversee drug and alcohol policy compliance
• Monitor prime contractor and subcontractor safety programs
• Attend project pre-planning, progress, and other relevant meetings to address safety matters
• Support field leadership with safety meetings, committees, and related activities; chair the project safety committee
• Assist with project-related accident investigations, determine root causes, and recommend process changes
• Coordinate injured employees' treatment and return-to-work process; compile injury progress reports
• Monitor site safety incentive programs
• Provide safety guidance and training to safety and project personnel
• Assist safety leadership during insurance audits
• Oversee large or complex projects, multiple projects, and controlled insurance program projects
• Develop or improve training strategies, programs, delivery methods, and learning technologies as needed
• Monitor company safety metrics and provide training interventions
• Deliver in-person and virtual training and maintain training records

• 5+ years of construction safety experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a safety and health-related field preferred
• Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the preferred degree
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office
• Knowledge of and ability to enforce federal, state, local, and company safety regulations
• Advanced proficiency in company safety software, programs, processes, and tools
• Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures
• Knowledge of testing protocols for environmental hazards
• Intermediate proficiency in required construction technology
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate internally and externally
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license
• Willingness and ability to work on complex construction projects

Demonstrates expertise in coordinating and implementing safety programs for construction projects, conducting safety audits, and providing training to personnel. Proficient in utilizing safety management systems and enforcing safety regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate hazards.
