Location: Saint Simons Island
Telephone Operator – Sales & Information Center (Full-Time)
Basic Job Function
Professionally operate the Sea Island switchboard and promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality. Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements- One (1) year in a switchboard or receptionist experience preferred
- Experience working in a hotel or resort preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent credentials preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred
- Proficient with peripherals, copier, fax, telephone and calculator

- Must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in compliance with company dress code policy
- Speak clearly and politely in a friendly and positive manner, ensuring the caller is connected to the correct extension.
- Operate the switchboard, relay incoming, outgoing and interoffice calls.
- Operate Opera software to check guest status, enter/conduct wake‑up calls, enter/deliver messages, reference department and employee extensions.
- Supply basic resort information to callers using printed, intranet and website reference materials.
- Establish and maintain extensive knowledge about Sea Island to help callers as quickly, accurately and effectively.
- Monitor radio to contact security and be prepared to react to any emergency that may occur.
- Follow instructions pertaining to the telephone operation assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of current guest services, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s ability.
- If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved) and follow up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
- Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing.
- Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
- Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership.
