OverviewThe Mercer University School of Medicine seeks a physician to provide full-time clinical practice at one of the Mercer Medicine rural clinic locations in Hancock County, Georgia. The role supports the mission of training physicians and other healthcare professionals in primary care service to rural and underserved populations.
Responsibilities- Maintain a financially viable clinical practice at a Mercer Medicine rural clinic.
- Serve a 12-month, non‑tenured affiliated faculty appointment and report to the Managing Partner of Mercer Medicine on a clinical basis.
- Provide comprehensive primary-care services in an interdisciplinary healthcare education and clinical setting.
- M.D. degree, board certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia.
- Strong experience working in interdisciplinary healthcare education and clinical settings.
- Desirable experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Ability to work well with others in an academic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and communicate medical concepts to clinical and lay audiences.
- Familiarity with medical settings and culture, and experience working with stakeholders and communities in rural, medically underserved areas of Georgia.
