Job Title:
Physician Assistant, PRN/On‑call
Location:
Jekyll Island, GA 31527
- Provide primary health care to patients in the general population under the supervision of a physician, the Georgia Scope of Practice, and written approval protocols.
- Perform overall care tasks:
- Develop treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases.
- Educate and guide patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Emphasize preventative care and disease management.
- Manage overall patient care regarding lifestyle and development issues.
- Refer patients to appropriate medical/health care specialists when indicated.
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited college/university.
- Current Physician Assistant (PA‑C) license.
- At least one year of experience in a general clinic situation, preferably a physician practice.
- Certificate of current liability insurance coverage.
- Experience in a family practice setting is a plus.
- Prescription authority from the DEA is a plus.
- Competent in Basic Life Support with current certification.
- Capable of examining and evaluating patient signs/symptoms and initiating treatment within scope of practice.
- Has prescriptive authority by using MD’s DEA or has own DEA.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, intermediate computer skills, and ability to use EMR (Athena).
- Team player with clinic colleagues and the department as a whole.
- Flexible and able to adjust to schedule changes.
- Maintains appropriate professional patient‑clinician relationships.
- Ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
