Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the Elementary Classroom Teacher facilitates student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills by implementing district‑approved curriculum, documenting instruction and student progress, addressing individual educational needs in a flexible and safe learning environment, and communicating progress, expectations and goals to students, parents, and administration.

• Develop and administer the elementary curriculum in line with district goals.
• Promote a safe, conducive classroom environment for individualized and small‑group instruction.
• Plan and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials, optimizing instructional time.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and modify instruction to meet individual and special‑needs students.
• Teach principles of responsible citizenship and other required subject matter.
• Continuously update professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, meetings, or research.
• Maintain accurate records, grading, and reporting for student activities, achievement, and attendance.
• Encourage parental involvement and ensure effective communication.
• Ensure student conduct aligns with school and district policies, maintaining a functional learning atmosphere.
• Coordinate with grade‑level staff to evaluate curriculum, participate in faculty meetings, and committees.
• Select and requisition instructional supplies and maintain inventory records.
• Supervise students during off‑classroom activities, including transportation‑related events.
• Administer standardized tests per district testing programs.

Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and central office administrators.

Standard office equipment such as personal computer, printer, copier, fax machine, and telephone.

Travel to district buildings and professional meetings as required.

• Current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, differentiating instruction by learning style.
• Elementary school curriculum and concepts.
• Data systems, data analysis, and action plan formulation.
• Applicable federal and state education laws.
• Computer network systems and software applications.
• Organizational and coordination skills.
• Effective communication with students and parents.
• Self‑evaluation for performance and professional growth.
• Cooperative working relationships with others.

• Georgia Certification as an Elementary Teacher.
• Georgia Certification in the appropriate grade level preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Master’s degree in related area preferred.

Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels is a plus.
