Early Childhood Ed - Program Director

Description:

Responsible for fulfilling both teaching and non-teaching activities necessary to sustain an educational program that prepares students for careers in child care and related fields. Must be willing to work flexible hours; work well in the classroom and in supervising students at practicum or internship sites. Will develop and evaluate lesson plans, direct and assess students' progress in achieving required competencies, and handle administrative responsibilities related to academic duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
* OR* Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in Early Childhood Education.

* Minimum three (3) years of full-time, in-field teaching and/or experience with young children within the last seven years.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Teaching experience at the postsecondary level and/or teaching experience via distance learning/online.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include retirement, paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned
