Position Title

12 Month Summer Program Teacher

Reports to

District Autism Services Administration; 12-Month Site Coordinator, Autism Services Administration

Primary Function

Provides direct instruction to 12 month Entitlement Program students (e.g. , OI, Autism) in accordance with student IEP objectives for the duration of the summer session. 7/6-8/6/26. Inservice Dates 6/23 & 6/24/26

Essential Duties
  • Apply appropriate strategies to educate students with disabilities, in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Engage students in meaningful learning activities.
  • Provide and implement direct instruction aligned with student‑specific IEP needs, goals and benchmarks, Behavior Support plans utilizing appropriate curricula.
  • Monitor and support paraprofessionals working with assigned students.
  • Complete end of program progress report summarizing performance towards goals.
  • Develop and nurture the emotional, cognitive, and social abilities of all students.
  • Implement research‑based instruction and classroom management strategies.
  • Demonstrate and implement positive behavior supports and practices.
  • Respond to student behavior according to IEP.
  • Demonstrate clear and accurate oral and written communication.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
  • Work cooperatively with staff, students, and parents.
  • Collect and input student data.
  • Maintain prompt and professional communication with staff, students, and parents.
  • Attend Summer Program professional development.
Qualifications
  • DE Special Education Certification. Autism and Severe Disabilities preferred.
  • All certificated teachers are eligible to support students during 12‑Month Programs.
  • Preferred experience working with students with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, and/or Orthopedic Impairments.
  • Preferred knowledge and application of Applied Behavior Analysis and other Evidence‑based practices.
