12 Month Summer Program Teacher
Reports toDistrict Autism Services Administration; 12-Month Site Coordinator, Autism Services Administration
Primary FunctionProvides direct instruction to 12 month Entitlement Program students (e.g. , OI, Autism) in accordance with student IEP objectives for the duration of the summer session. 7/6-8/6/26. Inservice Dates 6/23 & 6/24/26
Essential Duties- Apply appropriate strategies to educate students with disabilities, in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Engage students in meaningful learning activities.
- Provide and implement direct instruction aligned with student‑specific IEP needs, goals and benchmarks, Behavior Support plans utilizing appropriate curricula.
- Monitor and support paraprofessionals working with assigned students.
- Complete end of program progress report summarizing performance towards goals.
- Develop and nurture the emotional, cognitive, and social abilities of all students.
- Implement research‑based instruction and classroom management strategies.
- Demonstrate and implement positive behavior supports and practices.
- Respond to student behavior according to IEP.
- Demonstrate clear and accurate oral and written communication.
- Maintain high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
- Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
- Work cooperatively with staff, students, and parents.
- Collect and input student data.
- Maintain prompt and professional communication with staff, students, and parents.
- Attend Summer Program professional development.
- DE Special Education Certification. Autism and Severe Disabilities preferred.
- All certificated teachers are eligible to support students during 12‑Month Programs.
- Preferred experience working with students with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, and/or Orthopedic Impairments.
- Preferred knowledge and application of Applied Behavior Analysis and other Evidence‑based practices.
