Overview
The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a Limited Term Contract OR Long Term Substitute 1.0 FTE Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher at Spence Elementary School for the remainder of the school year. Projected
Start Date:
As soon as possible. The District will assist with emergency licensing if needed. Wisconsin certification 1801 and/or 1810, 1811, or 1830 is required. Multiple certifications are preferred. An applicant with a regular education teacher license who is interested in gaining experience as a team player to work with students, staff, and families is welcome.
- Wisconsin certification 1801 and/or 1810, 1811, or 1830 required; multiple certifications preferred.
- Experience with autism and EBD programming preferred.
- Special concentration in Learning Disabilities and/or Emotional Behavioral Disabilities.
- Experience and demonstrated skills in assessing, instructing, and programming for LD and EBD students.
- Experience working with a team of regular and special educators to meet student needs.
- Experience with developing behavior intervention plans.
- Demonstrated skills in the use of assistive and adaptive technology to support student independence.
- Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, CPR and First Aid.
- Instruction of students with learning disabilities and emotional behavioral disabilities including team teaching.
- Management of all aspects of student program including functional behavior assessment, behavior plans, academic assessments, writing and implementing integrated IEPs, and effective consultation with staff and parents.
- Ability to work as part of the IEP team to appropriately place students and monitor their progress.
- Successful completion of a mandatory Job Specific Screen before employment.
