Location: Black Creek

The Bryan County School System is accepting applications for certified teacher to teach ELEMENTARU AGRICULTURE & OUTDOOR EDUCATION at Frances Meeks Elementary School for the 2026-27 school year. The successful candidate must meet certification requirements in the appropriate field(s) of education.

Position Overview

This position will support the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility in the areas of agriculture and outdoor education. The teacher is responsible for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues;

and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.

Job Qualifications

Valid Georgia professional certification in appropriate teaching field.

Demonstrated knowledge of Agriculture and Outdoor Education Curriculum

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Job Duties

Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.

Administers agriculture and outdoor education specific assessments to evaluate student competency levels and develop learning plans.

Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals and provides feedback to students, parents, and administration.

Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents or guardians, and a variety of community resources improve the overall quality of student outcomes.

Demonstrates methods required to perform agriculture and outdoor education specific assignments to provide an effective program that addresses individual student requirements.

Directs others working with and/or helping the teacher in the learning environment (paraprofessionals, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers and/or student workers, etc.) to deliver an effective classroom program and address the needs of individual students.

Instructs students with a goal of improving their success in academics through a defined course of study in agriculture and outdoor education.

Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.

Monitors students in a variety of educational environments and ensures a safe and positive learning environment.

Participates in a variety of meetings (Professional Learning Communities, etc.) to convey and/or gather information required to perform functions.

Prepares a variety of written materials (grades, attendance, anecdotal records, meeting minutes, etc.) to document student progress and meet mandated requirements.

Reports suspected child or substance abuse following mandated reporter guidelines.

Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources (other teachers, parents, administrators, industry specific organizations, etc.) to resolve issues, and provide information and/or direction.

Responds to emergency situations (student behavior problems, health emergencies, security threats, etc.) to address immediate safety concerns.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
