Location: Midland

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving students as an Onsite Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic educational environment. Starting August 3rd, 2026, through the end of the academic year in May 2027, you'll contribute to inclusive learning by providing vital interpreting services in school settings. This full-time role (minimum 37.5 hours per week) may have some flexibility for part-time arrangements, depending on your availability and the district's needs.

Qualifications:
  • Valid Georgia Educator Certificate for Sign Language Interpreters
  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
  • Prior experience interpreting in school or educational environments (preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort with maintaining daily service logs
  • Team player mindset, able to collaborate with educators and administrators
  • Willingness to discuss age group and caseload preferences during interviews to ensure the best possible placement
Role Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate, effective American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for D/deaf and hard-of-hearing students in classrooms and school activities
  • Adapt interpretation style to suit age levels, communication modes, and learning needs
  • Collaborate closely with school staff and participate in planning meetings as needed
  • Maintain meticulous records of daily services, ensuring compliance with district requirements
  • Support a positive, inclusive educational experience for all students
The upcoming school year's caseloads will be determined in collaboration with selected candidates during interviews, matching your skills and preferences to appropriate student assignments. Please note, interviews are anticipated for June through early July, pending district budgeting.
