Minimum Requirements:
Education: Certification by the State of Georgia in Education SRT4 - SRT7 and content area specialization as required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Experience: Three years of successful teaching experience.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Skills in working effectively with people; effective writing and speaking skills; ability to employ a variety of instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learners; ability to deal with multiple tasks.
Primary Function: To create a flexible academic program and a classroom environment that is favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students, which will motivate them to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to progress through elementary, middle, and high school. To establish good relationships with parents and fellow staff members.

- Conducts assigned classes at the times scheduled.
- Enforces regulations concerning student conduct and discipline.

- Determines placement and exit procedure of EIP students
- Develops instructional schedule which is effectively coordinated with the maximum number of classroom teachers and provides the following:
- Developmental-appropriate learning experiences
- Strategies designed to facilitate further development of children's language, cognitive, affective and motor skills
- Instructional program characterized by:
- Curriculum, based on the Quality Core Curriculum, which integrates the development areas, subjects, and organized teaching experiences around unit themes for at least part of the day.
- Instructional materials that are concrete, real, and relevant
- Coordinates building level parent instructional program, parent-teacher conferences and other parent involvement
- Participates and assists in system-wide parental activities
- Participates in staff development activities
- Maintains appropriate/required records on each EIP student
- Submits reports as required by building level administrator and/or EIP program coordinator
- Maintains/adheres to specified classroom schedule
- Actively participates in all EIP classroom/instructional programs
- Assists classroom teachers in the preparation of instructional materials (not to include clerical duties)
- Communicates on regular basis with classroom teachers
- Demonstrates initiative in developing and teaching instructional topics
- Act in a professional manner and assumes responsibility for the total school program, its safety and good order
- Takes precautions to protect records, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Assumes responsibility for supervising students in out-of-class settings
