A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support communication in educational settings. This role involves providing interpretation services for students and staff who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring equal access to classroom instruction and school activities.
Location & Job Type:
- Based in Evans, GA, this position involves travel between multiple schools to support diverse educational environments.
- Facilitate clear and accurate sign language interpretation between students, educators, and other school personnel.
- Assist during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events to foster effective communication.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards related to interpretation services.
- Stay current on sign language standards and best practices in educational interpretation.
Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with the ability to interpret complex educational content.
- Previous experience working as a sign language interpreter in a school or educational setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with students of various ages and educators.
- Ability to travel between schools as required.
