QUALIFICATIONS:
Appropriate degree and training level according to teaching assignment. Valid certification held through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission in assigned field.
REPRESENTATIVE
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide standards based instruction at an appropriate instructional level.
Use the state-approved curriculum to plan instruction and assessment.
Set targets for student achievement on an annual basis. Assess students utilizing both formative and summative evaluations.
Utilize data to design interventions.
Complete a self-assessment and develop a professional growth plan on an annual basis.
Follow professional practices consistent with school and system policies in working with students, student's records, parents, and colleagues by interacting in a professional manner; being available to students and parents for conferences according to system policies and practices; communicate responsibly with all individuals and groups, maintaining confidentiality as required by FERPA; modeling correct use of language, oral and written; demonstrating accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content, assigning reasonable tasks and homework to students.
Account for student attendance and punctuality; direct the conduct of students in accordance with policies at all times; take all reasonable measures to protect students' health and safety.
Comply with school, system, and state administrative regulations and Board of Education policies by conducting assigned classes at the times scheduled; maintaining lesson plans as
required by school policy or directives; providing adequate information, plans, and materials for substitute teachers; maintaining accurate, complete, and appropriate records; filing reports promptly; attending and participating in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities; and complying with conditions stated in contract.
Promote a positive school environment that enhances student learning; help maintain a positive, cooperative climate; promote the responsible use of materials and equipment.
Maintain clean and orderly learning environment where student work is exhibited.
Dress appropriately for assigned duties.
Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable, and punctual manner.
Participate in Professional Learning Communities/Professional Development to increase the skills and proficiency related to the assignment.
Implement and adhere to appropriate safety procedures and crisis emergency plans to create and sustain a secure and healthy learning environment consistent with district and school rules, policies, and procedures.
Carry out duties in accordance with federal and state laws, Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, and established state and local policies, regulations, and practices.
Perform, professionally and efficiently, all other duties as assigned.
