Minimum Qualifications:
GAPSC Educational Leadership Tier II Certification
At least 3 years of successful administrative experience and 3 years of successful teaching experience, preferably in a K-12 school setting.
Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate instructional and support staff to achieve excellence.
Strong knowledge of the Georgia Standards, Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) policies, and Georgia's education initiatives.

Job Goal:
The principal's primary role is to ensure a high-quality educational experience that fosters student achievement, professional development, and a positive, inclusive school culture. This includes providing leadership that helps every student meet academic, emotional, and social goals while adhering to Georgia state policies and state standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management
Provide visionary leadership that aligns with the district's mission and the Georgia Department of Education's (GaDOE) goals, ensuring that students and staff consistently meet or exceed state academic standards and performance expectations.
Promote a culture of high expectations and support to meet the diverse needs of all students.
Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence through research-based practices and ongoing professional development.
Oversee day-to-day school operations, ensuring adherence to district policies, state and federal laws, and best practices in education.
2. Academic Excellence
Lead the implementation of the Georgia Standards and monitor instructional delivery to ensure alignment with the state's curriculum.
Support a data-driven culture by regularly reviewing academic performance data to drive instructional improvements and achieve measurable student success.
Support teachers in utilizing research-based instructional strategies, differentiated learning, and varied instructional approaches to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Ensure compliance with individualized education plans (IEPs), 504 plans, and English Language Learner (ELL) accommodations to ensure equitable access to high-quality instruction for all students.
3. Staff Supervision and Development
Supervise and evaluate all school staff based on performance and professional growth goals, providing feedback and guidance for continual improvement.
Implement a comprehensive professional development program that aligns with the needs of the school and supports the growth of instructional and support staff.
Facilitate a collaborative school environment by encouraging shared leadership, team-building, and cross-curricular partnerships.
Address employee performance issues promptly and fairly in line with district policies and Georgia state law.
4. Student and Community Engagement
Create a safe, supportive, and respectful school environment that prioritizes student well-being, mental health, and social-emotional learning.
Promote strong communication with parents, families, and community stakeholders to ensure alignment with the school's goals and encourage partnerships that support student achievement.
Serve as the primary point of contact for school-related concerns, addressing parent inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
Advocate for the school within the broader community, representing the interests of students, staff, and parents.
5. Budget and Resource Management
Manage the school's budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated to support instructional priorities, professional development, and extracurricular activities.
Oversee school facility maintenance, safety protocols, and technology integration to enhance the learning environment.
Identify and secure resources, including grants and community partnerships, to support school initiatives and programs.
6. School Culture and Climate
Promote an inclusive and positive school climate where every student and staff member feels valued and supported.
Implement strategies that address behavioral and academic challenges in a restorative and preventative manner, ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed.
Cultivate high standards for student behavior, promoting character education and responsibility in line with Georgia's Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Standards.
7. Legal and Policy Compliance
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including special education law, Title IX, and Georgia's code of ethics for educators.
Stay informed on changes to Georgia's education policies, ensuring the school adapts and adheres to new laws, standards, and initiatives, such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
Serve as the official representative of the school for external audits, assessments, and regulatory compliance reviews.
