County Wide Substitute Teacher P-12

Resume, High School Diploma or GED.
Candidates will be contacted by email to schedule an interview after the above application requirements are met and one of the following is submitted: substitute training certificate, a valid Georgia teaching certificate, or a valid Georgia paraprofessional certificate.
Selection Procedure- Applicants being considered for a substitute position will receive an email to sign up for an interview/background check appointment time.
- Applicants will be responsible for the fingerprint fee. The cost is $42.00 - exact cash only is accepted.
- A valid driver's license and social security card is required for this appointment.
A substitute teacher provides instruction to students and ensures continuity of appropriate learning during the absence of permanent teachers or paraprofessionals. Substitute teachers perform related duties in lieu of the absent teacher, or in a class that does not have an assigned teacher. This position is on-call and is assigned based on operational needs.
Performance Responsibilities- Adhere to teaching materials
- Respond to inquiries and provide feedback
- Utilize computer skills to encourage student engagement
- Provide classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans
- Create a classroom that is conducive to learning
- Maintain a safe and orderly environment
- Maintain established routine of the school and classroom procedures
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Remain at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed to leave by principal
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Maintain reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and times designated
- Monitor students in the classroom, at lunch, and throughout the school by maintaining order and discipline
- Perform duties, as assigned, with awareness of Fannin County School System Board Policies and Requirements:
The minimum requirements to be considered for Substitute Teaching positions are as follows: HS Diploma/GED, pass a Criminal Background Check, valid Georgia Teacher or Paraprofessional Certification, or Substitute Teacher Training Certificate - Must relate well to students and inspire the love of learning - excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to comprehend and follow directives
