Qualifications:

• Certification specific to Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
• Experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting
• Strong understanding of assistive listening devices, ASL, and communication strategies for diverse learners
• Proficiency in developing and adapting curriculum for varying degrees of hearing loss
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and families

What You'll Do:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments
• Deliver instruction in language, literacy, and academics using methods appropriate for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and growth
• Partner with general education teachers for optimal mainstream integration
• Offer ongoing consultation and resources to school staff and parents regarding best practices in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
• Stay current on the latest strategies, technologies, and legal requirements in special education
