Position Summary:
The Director of Curriculum, Safety, and Facilities provides district-level leadership and oversight to support high-quality instruction, continuous school improvement, safe learning environments, and effective facility operations. The director works collaboratively with district leaders, school administrators, teachers, staff, and community partners to ensure instructional practices, safety procedures, and facility operations align with the district's mission of supporting student achievement and success.
The Director of Curriculum, Safety, and Facilities serves as a member of the district leadership team and assists the Superintendent with planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating district initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required:
* Specialist degree (Ed.S.) or higher from an accredited institution in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field.
* Valid Georgia Professional Educator Certificate.
* Valid Georgia Tier II Educational Leadership Certification (Preferred).
* Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience.
* Minimum of three (3) years successful administrative experience in a school or district leadership role (Preferred).
Administrative experience may include Principal, Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, District-Level Administrator, or other comparable administrator-level leadership position.
* Knowledge of curriculum standards, instructional practices, assessments, school improvement processes, and educational accountability requirements.
* Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with administrators, teachers, staff, parents, community stakeholders, and outside agencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Curriculum and Instruction:
* Provide leadership and oversight for district curriculum, instruction, assessment, and academic programs.
* Ensure alignment of curriculum and instructional practices with Georgia Standards of Excellence.
* Support administrators and teachers in improving instructional effectiveness and increasing student achievement.
* Provide instructional leadership through classroom observations, data analysis, and collaboration with school administrators.
* Lead the review, analysis, interpretation, and disaggregation of district, school, grade-level, and student achievement data to identify strengths, areas of need, and instructional priorities.
* Collaborate with administrators and instructional staff to break down assessment data, identify achievement gaps, and develop targeted strategies to improve student learning outcomes.
* Support administrators in using multiple data sources to make informed decisions regarding instructional practices, interventions, professional learning needs, and school improvement initiatives.
* Monitor academic progress data throughout the school year and assist leadership teams with adjusting instructional plans and improvement strategies based on identified needs.
* Coordinate and support the development, implementation, and monitoring of initiatives designed to increase student achievement and improve overall school performance.
* Coordinate and support Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA), District Improvement Plan (DIP), and School Improvement Plan (SIP) processes.
* Lead professional learning opportunities aligned with district goals, student achievement data, and identified instructional needs.
* Support curriculum adoption, instructional resources, academic programs, and instructional initiatives.
* Promote a district-wide culture of continuous improvement focused on student learning, accountability, and achievement.
School Safety and Security:
* Serve as District Safety Coordinator and provide leadership for district safety and emergency preparedness programs.
* Coordinate and oversee district safety and security initiatives.
