Position: 1:1 IEP Paraprofessional
Location: Ball Ground

Paraprofessional Position

Serve as a support to the classroom teacher in providing educational opportunities for each student.

Representative duties and responsibilities include:

  • Using appropriate instructional strategies and techniques to support learning.
  • Providing support to selected students in resource, self-contained, and/or regular classroom settings.
  • Assisting and adhering to all elements of plans or accommodations as required by the IEP, behavior plan, healthcare plan, etc.
  • Performing special duties as required for meeting the unique needs of specific student populations.
  • Assisting student/teachers in using hardware, software, and other technology including assistive technology.
  • Providing ongoing feedback to the appropriate personnel regarding student performance.
  • Conducting small group or individual classroom activities based on lesson plans developed by the teacher.
  • Assisting with student assessment, grading work and tests, and collecting data on student progress.
  • Assisting with routine recordkeeping.
  • Assisting with preparation of materials for instruction.
  • Locating, operating, and returning needed equipment.
  • Assisting with classroom housekeeping.
  • Assisting in ordering and inventory of classroom equipment and materials.
  • Assisting with the supervision of students including classroom and school-wide supervision.
  • Assisting with supervision of students including bus monitoring for travel to and from school-related activities.
  • Possessing and maintaining valid and appropriate license, certificate, and/or credential as may be required for this position.
  • Following work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable, and punctual manner.
  • Participating in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to the assignment.
  • Reviewing current developments, literature, and technical source information related to job responsibilities.
  • Ensuring adherence to appropriate safety procedures.
  • Following federal and state laws, as well as Board policies.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
