Overview

An exciting opportunity awaits for an experienced Special Education Teacher ready to guide young learners in an inclusive elementary setting. In this full-time, contract position, youll make a meaningful difference for a caseload of approximately 8-10 students, primarily in 1st and 2nd grade, with a supportive classroom environment that values individualized instruction and growth.

This role focuses on providing specialized educational support to students presenting with autism, significant developmental delays, speech/language delays, self-regulation challenges, and learning disabilities. Your expertise will foster a nurturing atmosphere where each childs unique abilities and milestones are celebrated.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Active Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) teaching license with a P-12 Special Education (SPED) endorsement
  • Dyslexia endorsement required
  • Prior experience with PreK-2nd grade students preferred
  • Strong understanding of inclusive classroom strategies and differentiated instruction
  • Ability to support students with toileting supervision as needed (no active diapering or toileting, only supervision for one student)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted instruction for students in an inclusion setting
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive support
  • Track student growth and adjust techniques as needed
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment
